“I don't just want to 'colour' the world with paint, but also really want to contribute to a better world by doing more”, says Robert Schellekens, founder of Vestingh Paint • Craft • Lifestyle. The love for paint and color was present in him at an early age. After studying Business Administration at the VU University in Amsterdam, Robert immediately entered the profession. Initially as a project manager at a paint factory, after which he started Vestingh Paint • Craft • Lifestyle five years later.
What started in 2010 with a store of approximately 60 m², has now grown into a true concept store in Bussum of 500 m² where customers are inspired in the field of paint, color and interior. And with a full team at the office and in the webshop in Amersfoort, everything is arranged from A to Z so that your order can be shipped as quickly as possible. “It may be a cliché, but personal service and attention are really the most important to me,” says Robert. "Not only in our concept store, but also for our online customers. Our color samples and sample jars sent by post to see or test the colors with your own eyes."

At Vestingh Paint • Craft • Lifestyle there is a lot of attention for corporate social responsibility and sustainable business. So we are proud of our LAB PAINT FOUNDATION which was founded in 2018. Of each LAB PAINT purchase, a portion of the proceeds will go to the LAB PAINT FOUNDATION and as a consumer you contribute to a more beautiful world: paint at home and clean (drinking) water where necessary. “Sharing is multiplying, I really believe that. When you put love and energy into something, you get it back in so many ways. I think it's a great idea that you can provide clean (drinking) water somewhere else with water-based paint,” says Robert.
We also work a lot with sheltered workshops where people with a distance to the labor market take on various activities for us. We try to give everyone a chance. In addition, we pay a lot of attention to the environment in the production of our own paint line. We make every effort to limit CO2 emissions. For example, our sustainable paint is produced in the Netherlands and sold directly in the concept store in Bussum or via our webshop. This is a lot more environmentally friendly than if you produce it abroad.

In addition, a LAB Second Life Color comes onto the market several times a year. A limited edition LAB COLOUR. What is special is that this color is largely made up of unique LAB COLORS. We literally give these paints a second life. These are cans that have not been collected by customers or colors where too much or too little pigment has been added due to a typing error. This wall paint gets a second life. Double sustainable!
