“I don’t just want to ‘colour’ the world with paint, I also want to really contribute to a better world by doing more,” says Robert Schellekens, founder of Vestingh Paint • Craft • Lifestyle. His love for paint and colour was present at an early age. After studying Business Administration at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, Robert immediately entered the profession. Initially as a project manager at a paint factory, after which he started Vestingh Paint • Craft • Lifestyle five years later.
What started in 2010 with a shop of approximately 60 m², has now grown into a true concept store in Bussum of 500 m² where customers are inspired in the field of paint, color and interior. And with a full team in the office and in the webshop in Amersfoort, everything is arranged from A to Z so that your order can be sent out as quickly as possible. "It may be a cliché, but I sincerely find personal service and attention the most important," says Robert. "Not only in our concept store but also for our online customers. Our color samples and sample pots sent by mail to see or test the colors with your own eyes."

At Vestingh Paint • Craft • Lifestyle, there is a lot of attention for socially responsible and sustainable entrepreneurship. We are proud of our LAB PAINT FOUNDATION which was founded in 2018. From every LAB PAINT purchase, part of the proceeds will go to the LAB PAINT FOUNDATION and as a consumer you contribute to a better world: paint at home and clean (drinking) water where necessary. “Sharing is multiplying, I truly believe that. If you put love and energy into something, you get it back in so many ways. I think it's a beautiful thought that with water-based paint you provide clean (drinking) water somewhere else,” says Robert.
We also work closely with social workshops where people with a distance to the labor market take on various tasks for us. In this way, we try to give everyone a chance. In addition, we pay a lot of attention to the environment when producing our own paint line. We make every effort to limit CO2 emissions. For example, our sustainable paint is produced in the Netherlands and sold directly in the concept store in Bussum or via our webshop. This is a lot more environmentally friendly than producing it abroad.

In addition, a LAB Second Life Colour is released several times a year. A limited edition LAB COLOUR. What is special is that this colour is largely composed of unique LAB COLOURS. We literally give these paints a second life. These are cans that have not been collected by customers or colours to which too much or too little pigment has been added due to a typing error. This wall paint is thus given a second life. Doubly sustainable!
