RELAX! THIS IS HOW YOU GET A NEW BATHROOM WITHOUT DEMOLITION

For anyone who is no longer happy with their bathroom, but does not feel like renovating: there is hope. Because even without demolition work and mountains of dust in the house, your bathroom can get a completely new look. And you can fix that project yourself - even with little DIY experience. How? LITTLE EFFORT, GREAT RESULT

Most bathrooms last for about 20 years, but that doesn't mean your taste will remain steady for that long . Even if you bought an existing house, it's very likely that you would have made completely different choices regarding the bathroom. However, a complete renovation is not necessary to relax in the bath again. Because if the sanitary facilities are still in good condition, you can conjure up a completely new space with a makeover of the walls and floors.

GO FOR A BATHROOM WITH A CONCRETE LOOK

You apply the system in several layers and create a concrete look wall behind which the old wall disappears like snow in the sun .

The effect of cementum walls compared to tiles with joints is greater than you think. You bring peace to a usually small space and that makes you relax much better. It is not without reason that you see the same finish on the walls in hamams: you become quite zen from it. But even if you have a somewhat tougher style, the concrete look of cementum is exactly what you need and a nice basis to build on.

GET RID OF THOSE TILES AND JOINTS IN THE BATHROOM

Would you rather be rid of the tiles - and especially the joints - in your bathroom? In that case too, LAB cementum is the ideal product to give walls a tough or silky-smooth concrete effect. You can create a whole new bathroom look in no time, which seems to come straight from the interior design magazines. You can apply it to any surface. So even that not-so-nice-anymore tiled wall, as long as the base is stable. If you follow all the steps explained in the system, you will no longer see the old tiles and joints. Please note: if the old tiles were loose in some places, cementum will not solve that.

COATING FOR CEMENTUM

Do you want to give every square meter of the bathroom a concrete look? So also the shower? Then it is smart to apply a special transparent coating over the cementum. This cementum coating protects, makes the walls easy to clean, extremely wear-resistant and completely waterproof. You apply it in two layers and then you don't have to worry about it for years. If you really want to do it right, then coating on all walls in the bathroom is recommended. So not only in the wet room, but also behind the washbasin and on all walls in the toilet, the coating should be applied.  The coating is available in a matte, satin and gloss finish.

LITTLE DIY EXPERIENCE? NO PROBLEM!

LAB cementum is easy to apply. You don't need much DIY or painting experience, but it is important to take your time. It is also smart to apply a test area first. NO CONCRETE LOOK, BUT COLOR WITH BATHROOM COATING

If you don't want a concrete look, but do want to give the walls and partitions of the bathroom a different color, you can get started yourself with LAB bathroom coating . The coating has been specially developed for wet areas - with the exception of the floor in the shower cubicle. The coating can also be applied to tiles, but will not smooth them out, as is the case with LAB cementum. The joints and tiles remain visible, but will get a new look in your favorite color. 

The opaque LAB bathroom coating is available in every LAB COLOUR and can be mixed in almost any other colour.

The opaque variant consists of:

• LAB bathroom coating primer
• LAB bathroom coating

But there is also a transparent bathroom coating to finish walls with concrete ciré or cement-based plaster mortars 100% waterproof. LAB chalk sealer is there to protect LAB chalk (lime paint) in the bathroom, with the exception of the shower cubicle.

WATERPROOF COATING FOR THE BATHROOM

Both bathroom coatings from LAB are wear-resistant and waterproof, provided that sufficient layers have been applied and the substrate is stable. If you see cracks in the wall or a few tiles are loose, this may mean that the system is not completely waterproof. This is a requirement for a wet room, so always ensure a tight and solid base before you start working with the bathroom coating. This way, the coating will last for many years. And if you are tired of the color after a few years, you can easily apply a new shade over it.

CHOOSE COLOR

The opaque bathroom coating and cementum can be mixed in almost any colour . Would you like to try out the shade first? For a good impression, you can use the sample pots from LAB wallpaint . These come close to the colours of the opaque coating and cementum in terms of colour shade.
