LAB Cementum Colors (DIY Concrete Look)

LAB Cementum (concrete look) is an easy-to-use system for walls and floors that easily creates a concrete effect. Easy to process and extremely wear-resistant. Mixable in an approximation of all unique LAB COLORS and on request in almost any other color from 50 liters. You apply this system in several layers. After finishing with 2 layers of LAB Cementum Coating Transparent, the surface becomes completely watertight, making LAB Cementum also suitable for bathrooms (including the wet room with the exception of the floor), toilets, kitchens and other intensively used walls. Of course, a decorative wall in, for example, a living room or bedroom is also possible. In that case, a finish with LAB Cementum Coating Transparent is not required, but it is desirable for intensively used walls or walls with high requirements for cleanability.

LAB Cementum Walls

LAB Cementum Walls is an easy to process system with which a concrete effect can be created on walls. It is very easy to apply. The LAB Cementum Walls system consists of 3 different products, namely: LAB Cementum Wall Primer, LAB Cementum Wall and LAB Cementum Coating Transparent (optional). LAB Cementum Walls is available in sets of 5 m², 10 m² and 25 m² excluding LAB Cementum Coating Transparent.

Can be used on walls made of chipboard, mdf, plasterboard, gypsum blocks, ytong blocks, sand-lime brick, new stucco, plaster, painted walls and tiles, which are finished with the complete LAB Cementum Walls system. The surface must always be load-bearing, dry, free of dust and grease and may not contain cement laitance, glue and (silicone) sealant residues.

NB! Each surface requires a different pre-treatment. Proper pre-treatment prevents most problems. By pre-treating the surface in the right way, good adhesion with the product can be obtained. When in doubt, always do an adhesion test first and assess it after curing. View the product information sheet to see which pre-treatment applies to your wall.

LAB Cementum Colors (DIY Concrete Look)

Step 1: LAB Cementum Wall Primer

Apply LAB Cementum Wall Primer with wall paint roller GREEN PROF (10 cm and 18 cm) and use a flat synthetic brush PROF (size 40) for the corners. Stir well before use. LAB Cementum Wall Primer is an adhesive primer and contains some structure, resulting in good adhesion with LAB Cementum Wall. Apply LAB Cementum Wall Primer opaque in 1 to 2 layers. Process between 5-25 degrees. Dust dry after approx. 2 hours and can be painted over after approx. 4 hours (depending on temperature and humidity).

Step 2: LAB Cementum Wall

Apply LAB Cementum Wall with wall paint roller GREEN PROF (10 cm and 18 cm) and use a flat synthetic brush PROF (size 40) for the corners. Before use, mix mechanically with a drill and a paint mixer (metal with plastic - Ø55 mm) to a homogeneous mass. LAB Cementum Wall is a decorative concrete stucco and consists, among other things, of resin-added mineral raw materials colored with LAB pigments. Apply LAB Cementum Wall in a layer thickness of approx. 0.2-0.5 mm. Then finish the walls with Spaan PROF as soon as the LAB Cementum Wall starts to dry. This will create the first layer of the desired concrete effect. Then check the surface for any imperfections. Remove this with, for example, a knife, sanding is not necessary. Apply LAB Cementum Wall opaque in 2 layers. For a more concrete effect, a thin layer can be applied, making color and structure shades visible compared to the first layer. A thin layer dries faster and is only possible if sufficient layer thickness has already been achieved with the first layer. Process between 15-25 degrees. Dust dry after approx. 2 hours and can be painted over after 4-8 hours (depending on temperature and humidity). If desired, LAB Cementum Coating can be applied after a minimum of 24 hours.

Step 3: LAB Cementum Coating Transparent (optional)

Apply LAB Cementum Coating Transparent with coating and lacquer roller WHITE PROF (MICROFIBER) (10 cm and 18 cm) and use a flat synthetic brush PROF (size 40) for the corners. Before use, mix the two components mechanically with a drill and a paint mixer (metal with plastic - Ø55 mm) to a homogeneous mass. Use within 2 hours after mixing. LAB Cementum Coating Transparent can be used as an extra finishing and protection layer for LAB Cementum Walls and LAB Cementum Floors. This makes the walls and floors very easy to clean and completely waterproof. Apply LAB Cementum Coating Transparent in at least 2 layers. We recommend a 3rd or 4th layer for intensively used floors. The LAB Cementum Walls sets of 5 m² and 10 m² are exclusive of LAB Cementum Coating Transparent. LAB Cementum Coating Transparent is available in 1 liter and 2.5 liter cans. Consumption per liter is approx. 12 m². LAB Cementum Coating Transparent is available in gloss levels Matt and Satin. Process between 10-25 degrees. Dust-dry after approx. 2 hours, can be painted over after approx. 5 hours, light loadable after approx. 14 hours, fully loadable after 7 days and fully cured after 28 days (depending on temperature and humidity).

Maintenance LAB Cementum Walls

  • Preferably use LAB ECO Cleaner for cleaning and cleaning LAB Cementum Walls. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents such as ammonia, all-purpose cleaner or bleach. These products affect the coating. If no coating is used, the walls can only be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth with lukewarm water.
  • Remove spills and other contamination from LAB Cementum Walls as soon as possible to prevent retraction. Only wet clean if necessary.

LAB Cementum Floors is an easy to process system with which a concrete effect can be created on floors. It is easy to apply. The LAB Cementum Floors system consists of 5 different products, namely: LAB Cementum Floor Primer, LAB Cementum Floor Connect, LAB Cementum Floor ONE, LAB Cementum Floor TWO and LAB Cementum Coating Transparent. LAB Cementum Floors is available in sets of 5 m², 10 m² and 25m² excluding LAB Cementum Coating Transparent.

Can be used on floors of stone-like materials, concrete, wood, leveling compound, anhydrite and cement deck, which are finished with the complete LAB Cementum Floors system. The surface must always be load-bearing, dry, free of dust and grease and may not contain cement laitance, glue and (silicone) sealant residues.

Apply LAB Cementum Floor Primer with a coating and lacquer roller WHITE PROF (MICROFIBER) (10 cm and 18 cm) and use a flat synthetic brush PROF (size 40) for the corners. Before use, mix the two components mechanically with a drill and a paint mixer (metal with plastic - Ø55 mm) to a homogeneous mass. LAB Cementum Floor Primer is a two-component epoxy-based primer that is solvent-free. Apply LAB Cementum Floor Primer opaque in 1 to 2 layers. Process between 10-25 degrees. Dust dry after approx. 2 hours and can be painted over after approx. 12 hours (depending on temperature and humidity). Apply the next layer within 24 hours. If waiting longer than 24 hours, LAB Cementum Floor Primer should be sanded.

Step 2: LAB Cementum Floor Connect

Apply LAB Cementum Floor Connect with wall paint roller GREEN PROF (10 cm and 18 cm) and use a flat synthetic brush PROF (size 40) for the corners. Stir well before use. LAB Cementum Floor Connect is an adhesive primer and contains some structure, resulting in good adhesion with LAB Cementum Floor ONE. Apply LAB Cementum Floor Connect opaque in 1 to 2 layers. Process between 5-25 degrees. Dust dry after approx. 2 hours and can be painted over after approx. 4 hours (depending on temperature and humidity).

Apply LAB Cementum Floor ONE with wall paint roller GREEN PROF (10 cm and 18 cm) and use a flat synthetic brush PROF (size 40) for the corners. LAB Cementum Floor ONE is a decorative concrete stucco and consists, among other things, of resin-added mineral raw materials colored with LAB pigments. Apply LAB Cementum Floor ONE in a layer thickness of approx. 0.5-1 mm. Then finish the floor with Spaan PROF as soon as the LAB Cementum Floor ONE starts to dry. Process between 15-25 degrees. Dust dry after approx. 2 hours and can be painted over after approx. 24 hours (depending on temperature and humidity).

Apply LAB Cementum Floor TWO with wall paint roller GREEN PROF (10 cm and 18 cm) and use a flat synthetic brush PROF (size 40) for the corners. Before use, mix mechanically with a drill and a paint mixer (metal with plastic - Ø55 mm) to a homogeneous mass. LAB Cementum Floor TWO is a decorative concrete stucco and consists, among other things, of resin-added mineral raw materials colored with LAB pigments. Apply LAB Cementum Floor TWO in a layer thickness of approx. 0.2-0.5 mm. Then finish the floor with Spaan PROF as soon as the LAB Cementum Floor TWO starts to dry. Maintenance LAB Cementum Floors

  • Apply protective felt pads under furniture, tables and chairs. Replace castors under chairs with casters with softer, colorless rolling surfaces.
  • Use a drying mat at the outside door to prevent stones and sand from entering. Sand and dirt act like sandpaper. Vacuum regularly and sweep or mop the floor daily.
  • Avoid direct contact of the floor with rubber due to migration of plasticizers.
  • Preferably use LAB ECO Cleaner for cleaning and cleaning LAB Cementum Floors. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents such as ammonia, all-purpose cleaner or bleach. These products affect the coating.
  • Remove spills and other contamination from LAB Cementum Floors as soon as possible to prevent retraction. Only wet clean if necessary.
  • Do not put animal skins on the floor to avoid discoloration.
