COPY PASTE: THESE ARE THE COLORS FROM THE HOUSE OF JENNIFER EWBANK
'A colour expert from LAB gave us advice,' says Jennifer. 'She understood exactly what we wanted, better than we did ourselves, very special. When Robin and I came to her, we already had ideas for the colours for our new house. The shades we suggested were good in themselves, but we had chosen a rather cool nuance of everything. She quickly realised that those nuances did not suit us and moved them to warmer variants. Then it all fell into place and that seventies vibe came about that we were unconsciously looking for.
GIVE ME A BREAK
In the living room, Mrs. Wool provides warmth. This woolly hue naturally enhances the richness of its opponents. To break up the long wall in the living room, the LAB color expert recommended painting the mantelpiece on the long wall a subtly darker shade, Masala Chai no. 31 . It gives the living room balanced proportions in a very natural way. 'I wouldn't have thought of it myself, but it works really well, so I'm super happy with it.'
LAB wall paint Mrs. Wool no. 108 (wall), Fez no. 288 (ceiling) and Masala Chai no. 31 (mantelpiece) and LAB interior paint Monumental Moss no. 265 (frame and radiator cover) and Fez no. 288 (woodwork ceiling).
LIGHT & LIFE
'One of the nicest things about this paint – we discovered that once it was on the walls – is that the colours look different every time. In the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening … depending on the light that falls on it, the shades have a different look. And in the evening with the lights it is different again. That really makes the house come alive.'

HARMONY IN THE SEVENTIES
On the way up, the hall is a warm welcome to the upper floor. With Saint-Tropez no. 460 on the walls and Velvet Fudge no. 380 on the wainscoting and skirting boards. The woodwork in Monumental Moss no. 265 brings a fresh, green touch here. This atmosphere is continued to the top floor. Seventies all-over.
HOTEL FEELING
In the bedroom, all the walls and also the (closet) doors, frames and window coverings were painted in the warm burgundy red Valentine no. 609. It is a colour that envelops you, certainly very comfortable for a bedroom. This is further enhanced by the fact that everything is painted, including the skirting boards and window frames. 'For us, this burgundy red matches the wonderful hotel feeling that the colours give our house. The colour expert from LAB did advise us to choose a lighter shade of red for the ceiling of the bedroom, because that is quite low. Of course, it should not feel stuffy. The lighter Terra Pink no. 102 does indeed provide some air.'
SWEET DREAMS
In Emily's bedroom , Pink Peach no. 24 exudes a soft, playful warmth. The walls, ceiling and even the cupboard are dressed in this shade, giving the room an embracing, almost dreamy feel. Monumental Moss no. 265 forms the green thread through the house. This shade provides a soft layer on all the woodwork, frames and doors. For a nice contrast, the woodwork and the large desk by the window are also painted in this subtle green shade. Monumental Moss balances the sweet tones of Pink Peach in a way that looks both fresh and calm. 'The colours not only make the room beautiful, but also very personal and cosy.'
Ben's is no less warm and cozy. Warm Cream no. 38 brings a soft, natural base that makes the room light and spacious. Here too, the calm green Monumental Moss no. 265 is on the frames and door. The shade brings a touch of nature from outside to inside. Together, the cream and moss green form a soothing, yet playful environment, perfect for Ben to discover the world.
