Looking inside Elise Boers and Wouter Peelen: 'We were looking for warm colours, as you also see in Morocco'

The feeling of being on holiday in a sunny country. That's what Elise Boers and Wouter Peelen wanted in their new home in Amsterdam. They bought a beautifully atmospheric building and decorated it completely in their own style. For extra warmth and atmosphere, they chose different LAB COLORS and treated part of the walls with LAB Cementum (concrete look).

'After thoroughly studying various paint brands, we came across the paint from LAB PAINT. We were looking for warm colours, as you also see in Morocco. The LAB PAINT paint has a kind of depth and plays very nicely with the light. We were over!'

Because Elise and Wouter liked several colors, they used sample jars (40 ml) beforehand. Are you still unsure which color is best for the room you want to paint? Then make different color areas on the wall. This way you can see how a shade looks in the room and see what effect the light has on the color throughout the day. Would you rather not paint directly on the wall? Then make test areas on paper. Always hang the paper on the wall to get a realistic image.

In the bedroom, Elise and Wouter opted for LAB Cementum (concrete look) in the color Copperhead no. 29 . Not only the walls are painted in this warm color, but also the ceiling has been included. This makes the room feel a lot cozier and it gives a completely different atmosphere than if the ceiling were white.

LAB Cementum (concrete look) has also been used in the bathroom. Here Elise and Wouter chose the shade Terra Pink no. 102 . For extra warmth, they added wooden details, such as the stairs that can be used to hang towels.

The bedroom of the twins of Elise and Wouter, the study and the guest room are painted with LAB Wallpaint in the shade Masala Chai no. 31 . A light, warm and neutral color. By painting several rooms in the same color, you can easily extend the same atmosphere in your home. To reinforce this, the same floor covering and furniture made of the same type of wood have been used.

In the hall and at the stairs, Elise and Wouter opted for LAB Cementum (concrete look) in the shade Terra Pink no. 102 . 'It gives us the feeling of entering a wonderful holiday home. For example, a finca in Spain or a house in Marrakesh.'

Even the balcony got a tan. The same LAB COLOR used in the bedroom: Copperhead no. 29 . The walls are painted with VESTINGH Acrylic Exterior Silk Matt Wall Paint (AX) and the window frames with VESTINGH lacquer . The wall paint for outside is dirt-repellent, very strong and semi-gloss. The warm color makes you imagine yourself on the balcony in a sunny place. A very nice place to sit in the summer!
