DESCRIPTION

Eazyfix Wood Moisture Meter

The EAZYFIX ® Wood Moisture Meter is essential for wood rot repair. Before you start repairing, it is important to measure the moisture content of the wood. First remove the wood rot and then use the wood moisture meter to measure the moisture content. Is the moisture content lower than 18% percent? Then you can start strengthening and filling the wood.

Step-by-step plan

  1. Remove the wood rot with a multi-tool and a wood rot cutter.
Please note: also remove 2cm around the wood rot, so that you are sure that everything has been removed
  2. Remove the protective cap from the wood moisture meter and turn on the moisture meter
  3. Go to position D with the “Mode” button
  4. Push the measuring pins into the wood
  5. Then press the HOLD button once and pull the measuring pins out of the wood
  6. Read the number on the display. If it is below 18%, you can repair it. If the number is above 18%, wait until the wood dries. Often the moisture content has dropped below 18% within 24 hours.
Important: let the wood air dry and do not dry it with a hair dryer. This way you blow the moisture into the wood
  7. Is the number lower than 18%? Then strengthen the wood with wood strengthener
  8. Let the wood strengthener soak into the wood for 25 minutes and then dab it off. After this you can start filling the hole with wood rot filler
