A fresh start with LAB PAINT in LAB COLOURS
This episode of "Help, My Man Is a Handyman!" shows how color can not only transform the aesthetic of a space, but also influence its mood and feel. LAB PAINT in LAB COLOURS brings a fresh start to Sigrid and Chris's home. The combination of neutral Full White no. 253 , vibrant Straw no. 209 with soothing Smoking Grass no. 23 creates a bedroom that is both relaxing and energizing. The bathroom, in Storm no. 224 and Black Clay no. 40 , becomes a modern retreat that exudes a sense of luxury and tranquility.
Bedroom
The pure white of Full White no. 253 is used on all the woodwork, ceiling, window frames and doors in the bedroom. This colour acts as a canvas, reflecting daylight beautifully and bringing brightness to the space. It serves as a fresh counterpoint to the other colours in the room. The walls on the window side and bed side, including the radiator, are painted in Smoking Grass no. 23. This strongly muted green with grey undertones, evokes the tranquillity of nature and provides a calming backdrop. It enhances the feeling of relaxation in the bedroom and works well with natural light and wooden furniture.
The wainscoting behind the bed and in the entrance area is in Straw No. 209. This warm mix of ochre and mustard yellow stimulates cheerfulness and energy, and provides a playful interaction with the more subdued tones in the room. The choice to execute the wainscoting in two different colours, with Smoking Grass No. 23 above and Straw No. 209 below, is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also contributes to a greater sense of spaciousness and can influence the perception of room height. The darker colour at the top draws the eye upwards, while the lighter colour at the bottom makes the space feel larger and airier.
Bathroom
In the bathroom, the walls and ceiling have been given the colour Storm no. 224 , a greyed-blue shade that is reminiscent of the tense moments before a storm. This bold blue shade adds a dramatic yet calming element to the bathroom, creating a unique, atmospheric space. The woodwork, including the window frames, door and a custom-made shelf in the bedroom, are finished in Black Clay no. 40. This concentrated anthracite colour appears almost black at first glance, but offers a softer, more natural look. It is an elegant and chic choice that combines beautifully with natural materials and colour tones, and provides a refined finish.
