COPY PASTE: ALL ABOUT THE COLORS FROM ISA HOES' HOME

Isa Hoes needed some color in her home again. Through the Schilderzusjes she ended up at LAB, where the professional LAB color advisor Karin helped her find the colors to bring warmth into her home. CHOOSE CONTRAST

'The first thing I saw at Isa's was a beautiful open kitchen with a top of veined natural stone. It mainly contained many shades of green and pink. Isa had tried to pick a colour from that for the walls. An understandable thought, but it would detract from the visual appeal of the kitchen, which was not the intention. It is better to opt for contrast if you want a certain part of your interior to stand out. That can also be subtle.'

WARM EARTH TONE

'My proposal for the living floor was LAB wall paint in the colour Amaze no. 535 , an earth tone, composed of beige, grey and cream. Against that background, the kitchen continues to shine, and in the sitting area the colour brings warmth and tranquility.'

AWAY WITH THE DOORS

'Isa has frameless doors. Painted with LAB interior paint in the colour of the walls, they disappear completely. The same goes for the skirting boards. This created one neutral whole, which gives Isa all the space to add colour with accessories.'

CONNECTING UNDERTONE

'For the landing upstairs we chose Calm Mood no. 155. We used that shade for the wall at the top of the stairs. It is a soft grey-green with a blue tinge, more towards heaven than earth. On the adjoining wall of the stairwell is the earthy Amaze again. That goes well next to each other because they are both greyed shades.'

HOTEL LUXURY

'Nude Cashmere no. 312 became the colour for the bedroom. It is a shade that radiates tranquility, but also luxury, fitting in with the open bathroom.'

THE WHITE OF BUTTERFLY

'Daughter Vlinder wanted her room to be white. Together we chose Frosted Sand no. 374 , a warm white shade, subtly composed of beige, grey and cream. Just like Amaze, but towards the lightest side. White and yet not.'
