5 TIPS FROM ROMÉ REINDERS: ABOUT COLOUR, STYLING AND RENOVATION
If you are looking for tips for a harmonious interior, look no further than the stylishly furnished home of Romé Reinders. With her creative and thoughtful approach, Romé shares 5 valuable tips that will help you transform your own home into a personal and harmonious whole. Whether it is working with themes, creating collections or subtly applying indirect light: Romé shows you how you can achieve a great effect with small, thoughtful details.
1. WORK WITH THEMES
'I always like to work with themes. In Belle Rose's room, that is very clear: pink and roses. But there are also more hidden themes in the interior, such as the drop shape that keeps coming back. For example in the self-designed dining table, the steel dividing door and the mirror in the hall. Even though it is not immediately noticeable, it still brings unity to the house, at least for me.'

2. CREATE COLLECTIONS
Collections also create unity and peace. Romé: 'I am a huge fan of Baobab's scented candles and home fragrances. Their mouth-blown glassware is everywhere in the house. They are items that you have to save up for, but that makes it extra fun.'
3. FAMILY HERITAGE
'To have a painting like my grandmother's in my home is incredibly valuable to me. My mother got her creativity from her, it's really in our genes. The painting also fits perfectly in terms of colour. It means a lot to me to have such a personal eye-catcher in my interior.'
4. INDIRECT LIGHT
We can't ignore indirect light as one of the features of Romé's house. 'Hidden dimmable LED lighting is really very atmospheric, you just have to remember that grazing light along the walls makes every unevenness visible. We even had to have the ceiling plastered three times before it was smooth enough.'
5. DIVIDE THE JOBS
'We've been living here for about six months now and the house isn't finished yet. It still needs to be decorated and made more cozy, and there are still some small jobs to be done. I think it's very good not to want to force that. That's why we agreed that in addition to our busy jobs, we'll do one thing in the house every day. Nothing more. That could be hanging wall shelves for decorative items, or fitting handles, like Daniël did yesterday. An agreement like that keeps it fun and organized.'
