Farrow & Ball | Off Black no. 57

This soft black is one of the original Farrow & Ball colours, an uncomplicated name for a much-loved classic. Farrow & Ball Off Black No. 57 is much more flattering to adjacent colours than the stronger blacks as it feels so much softer in tone and has less of the underlying cool blue that Farrow & Ball Railings No. 31 or Farrow & Ball Black Blue No. 95 have. Use with Farrow & Ball Undercoat in Dark Tones .

Using a 100ml sample pot is an easy way to test colours in the room you are painting. Instead of applying directly to the wall, we recommend applying two coats of each of your sample pots to sheets of paper or card (the larger the better) and allowing to dry. Stick your painted sheets up in the room you are painting. Move them around the room to see how the colour changes throughout the day and in different light conditions. The sample pot contains Estate Emulsion, a high- quality, ultra-matt chalk paint for interior ceilings and walls (ultra-matt: 2% sheen).
