ÉLITIS La Caravane Wallpaper Collection
This collection consists of wallpapers with the most beautiful structures and is a continuation of the Eldorado collection and based on the design of Atelier d'Artiste. The collection originated from the discovery of the Korean fabric Pojagi. A textile that was used to wrap gifts and pens, consisting of different fabrics. Here reinterpreted in patterns of coated canvas with the structure of abaca and raffia. Extensive solid colours, or detailed with decorative stitching; this wallpaper collection is very elegant and immediately gives a soft effect to a room. This collection is inspired by the Bojagi , a traditional Korean wrapping cloth. Bojagi are usually square and can be made of different materials, although silk or ramie are common. Bojagi are widely used, among other things as gift wrapping, at weddings and in Buddhist rituals. More recently, they have been recognised as a traditional art form, often on display in museums and inspiring modern reinterpretations. Unlike the royal kung-bo, which were not patchwork, these cloths were made from small segments (" chogak ") of fabric from other sewing, such as that left over from cutting the curves in traditional hanbo garments. Both symmetrical "regular" and random-looking "irregular" pattern cloths were sewn, with the styles presumably chosen by the aesthetic taste of an individual woman.
